ALICE BELL & KOOJ CHUHAN
CLIMATE CHANGE: PAST & FUTURE

TeenTalk / Thurs 28 March / 5.00 - 6.30 pm

Climate change is rapidly proving itself to be the defining issue of our time, but have you ever thought about how we first realised we were getting into a hot mess? And when did we really start to take action? Are we getting anywhere with it? In this talk science communicator Alice Bell and digital artist Kooj Chuhan sit together to debate the story of climate change and how the arts fit into our efforts to find solutions.

Teens are also welcome to stay for the full Triptych #3 debate, see  Triptych #3: Fast-Forward Climate Migration .

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Alice Bell, a trained historian of science, first caught the climate change bug when she was tasked with setting up an undergraduate course on the topic back in 2011. She later started telling stories in the history of climate and energy as part of a walking tour she ran with friends and in 2017 developed it into a series of web-based non-fiction short stories. Alice is now Head of Communications at the climate charity 10:10 in the UK and previously worked as an academic and writer specialising in the politics of science, technology and medicine.

Kooj Chuhan is a digital artist, filmmaker, creative producer and activist. He was born in Punjab, India but has lived in the UK most of his life. He has worked with international artists and with numerous local communities, has exhibited widely and has gained an award for digital arts connecting refugees with climate change. He is the founder of Virtual Migrants artists collective, and has also co-founded the Black Arts Alliance.
