Talk with neuroscientist Anil Seth

Catalyst  / Thurs 16 Feb / 5:15 - 6:15 PM

Can you believe everything you see or hear? How do you see the world around you? How do others see the world? What is it like to be me? Is reality a hallucination?

Pioneering neuroscientist Anil Seth explores how our brain and senses work together to help us understand the world. This talk is an engaging and accessible tour through some of neuroscience’s boldest theories, most creative experiments and surprising findings on perception and consciousness. Come join the discussion and expand your understanding of life’s big questions. If you're into STEM subjects, you sure don't want to miss this!

Anil Seth is Professor of Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience at the University of Sussex, where he is also Co-Director of the Sackler Centre for Consciousness Studies. His mission is to advance the science of consciousness, and to use its insights for the benefit of society, technology, and medicine. Anil is also Co-Director of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR) Program on Brain, Mind, and Consciousness, and of the Leverhulme Doctoral Scholarship Programme: From Sensation and Perception to Awareness.
