TRISTRAM STUART & SEBASTIEN MORVAN
A WASTELESS REVOLUTION

Evening Debate / Tue 25 Jun / 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

When Tristram Stuart met Sébastien Morvan back in 2015 in Brussels, he had a startling lightbulb moment. Sébastien's creative and revolutionary brewing company, Brussels Beer Project, had just released the Babylone, a beer made from waste bread. For Tristram it was the most brilliant idea of his lifelong campaigning efforts against food waste.

Since his last visit to Full Circle Tristram has picked up the idea and helped create ToastAle, the UK version of our Babylone, along with building a crucial coalition against food waste. He’s managed to bring together on board corporations and supermarkets, top chefs and thousands of ordinary people. Meanwhile Sebastien has co-created hundreds more beers with the ambition of building a circular and participative economy.

Tristram and Sébastien now meet again, bringing things full circle. They will engage in a lively conversation reflecting on how far we’ve come and on the challenges that lie on the horizon.

ABOUT TRISTRAM STUART

Tristram Stuart is an international award-winning author, speaker, campaigner, and expert on the environmental and social impacts of food production. Feedback, the environmental campaigning organisation he founded, has spread its work into over 50 cities across all continents, working with governments, international institutions, businesses, NGOs, and the public to change society’s attitude toward wasting food. It has driven changes in supermarket policies and international legislation. Its campaigns and events include Feeding the 5000, the Pig Idea, and the Gleaning Network. Tristram is an Ashoka Fellow, a National Geographic Emerging Explorer, a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, and since recently is part of the UN coalition on the Sustainable Development Goal of halving food waste globally by 2030. In 2016, Tristram launched Toast Ale, a social enterprise that brews beer with surplus fresh bread that would otherwise be wasted. All profits go to Feedback.
