ENVIRONMENT: Renewables in your home

18/05/2026 3:08 PM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

Use renewable electricity in your home

The Green Tariff (Easiest): Switch your existing electricity provider to a 100% certified renewable tariff. You keep your existing utility infrastructure, but your provider guarantees that every megawatt-hour you use is backed by European Guarantees of Origin (GOs) from wind, solar, or hydro generation

Community Energy (Medium): If you rent an apartment or cannot install solar panels, you can become part of a local energy community. Under EU rules, citizens have a legal right to produce, consume, and share renewable energy. You buy a small share in a regional wind or solar project and get credited on your bill.

On-Site Generation (Highest Impact): Install rooftop solar panels or a heat pump. This transitions your home into a self-sustaining green power plant and permanently eliminates domestic gas reliance.
