Dinner / Tues 11 Dec / 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm
The West likes to believe that North Korea has a crazy regime and an insane ideology, but few attempts have really been made to understand the internal logic of the regime - and why life there is so difficult. Glyn Ford, an unparalleled connoisseur of the country, offers a controversial take on one of the most terrifying political situations of the twenty-first century. His insider’s account blasts apart the myths which paint North Korea as a rogue state run by a mad leader. Informed by extraordinary access to the country’s leadership, Glyn investigates the regime from the inside, providing game-changing insights. Acknowledging that North Korea is a deeply flawed and barbaric state, he nonetheless shows that sections of the leadership are desperate to modernise and end their isolation and even avert the threat of war in North East Asia.
Full Circle dinners feature an intimate and thought-provoking talk over dinner with stimulating discussion, among friends - old and new - around the table. Full meal and drinks are included.
