Chamber Jazz Consort is a versatile collective known for its dynamic performances in various formations, ranging from intimate trios to expansive ensembles. Featuring accomplished musicians with expertise in both classical and jazz traditions, the group delivers a rich and captivating musical experience.

Among its members is Oene van Geel, an award-winning jazz violinist celebrated for his distinctive style and innovative approach. Eduardo Tonietto, cellist and artistic director of Brussels Muzieque, brings exceptional artistry and the vibrant heritage of Brazilian music to the ensemble. Anton Jakimenko, with his unique fusion of classical and jazz influences, further enriches the group’s sonic palette.

The ensemble also features the remarkable talents of Sarah Oates, concertmaster of the Ballet Orchestra Amsterdam, whose leadership and artistry are integral to the group’s performances. Elina Buksha, a Latvian concert violinist and recipient of numerous accolades—including the Latvian Great Music Award (2012) and the Kulturkreis Gasteig Musikpreis (2019)—adds her virtuosic presence to the ensemble. She is also a 2020 City Music Foundation Artist in London.

This concert will feature timeless jazz standards and Brazilian music alongside original compositions by the ensemble members. Highlights include Singing for Chiara by Eduardo Tonietto (world premiere), Summertime by George Gershwin, selections from Rhapsody in Blue (performed in a special arrangement for bass clarinet) by George Gershwin, Modinha by Antônio Carlos Jobim, Divertimento by Torrie Zito, Bloodcount by Billy Strayhorn, and Night Lights by Anton Jakimenko.

Chamber Jazz Consort frequently collaborates with renowned musicians, such as Lars Danielsson and Aaron Parks, further enhancing its creative versatility. The ensemble has graced prestigious venues, including the Concertgebouw, Muziekgebouw, and Bimhuis in Amsterdam, delivering unforgettable performances that bridge genres and captivate audiences.
