THE NEW FACE OF FASCISM

A salon with Paul Mason

 Ideas  / Tue 11th Mar / 6.30 - 8:30 pm

Doors open at 6.30pm. The speaker will start at 7pm

The far-right is on the rise across the world and fascism is not a horror that we have left in the past. We need to find a better way to respond to it and defend democracy. An expert on the far-right, Paul Mason offers a radical, hopeful blueprint for resisting and defeating the new face of fascism.

He looks at contemporary fascism, tracing its psychological roots, political theories and genocidal logic. Fascism, Mason argues, is a symptom of capitalist failure, and it has haunted us throughout the twentieth century. History shows us the conditions that breed fascism and how it can be successfully overcome, but it is up to us in the present to challenge it.

What opportunities do we have to create a fairer, more equal society? What kind of world do we want to live in? And what are we going to do about it? Paul Mason tackles today's big questions. Join the conversation.
